Dear Colleagues and fellow members:

It is my distinct honor and pleasure to have been named president of the Society at the recent Board of Directors meeting in Chicago.  I am very grateful for the support that you have provided me, and I hope to and indeed I intend to serve you well.

I first want to acknowledge and praise the diligent and effective work of my predecessor, Dr. Jeanne Wei.  As President, Dr. Wei made progress on a number of important issues and initiatives.  It is my responsibility to now build on what she has accomplished and move the Society further along toward the goals we have we set.
